Job Description

To manufacture traditional, high-quality kilts in a modern and friendly factory environment with full training given.

Principal Duties

1. Production of “Kilts” from the marking process through to and including quality control/final inspection

2. Production of other items of “Highlandwear” in line with specification sheets.

3. To halt production as soon as any quality issues arise and report these to the “Kiltmaker” as soon as possible, to ensure minimal rejects.

4. Carrying out minor repair work on the kilts and hand stitching duties as required.

5. To maintain a clean and tidy work area to prevent the soiling of fabric.

6. To assist in the maintenance of a safe working environment through the strict adherence

to the company health and safety rules and procedures.

Other Duties

The post holder will be required to perform duties appropriate to the post, other than those given in this job description. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to the post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of the responsibilities entailed.

Attributes and Experience

In addition to an excellent timekeeping and attendance record, the following attributes are required.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· A team worker with a flexible attitude.

· Excellent eyesight and full capacity to recognise and distinguish between different colours.

· Attention to detail.

· Sewing machine experience is required.

· Hand-sewing experience is required

· Full training in Kilt-marking and Kilt-making will be provided.
