What does the role involve?

Custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. Whilst detained, we provide individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, as well as gather any forensic samples needed by the police to aid their investigations. Making careful records you'll be assessing whether people are fit to be detained or released, administering medications when needed, and working with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root cause issues that can actually prevent future crime.

What can I expect to earn?

• Salary of £18,360 on a rotating shift pattern, scheduled for 2 years ahead so you can plan your life. (Averages 21 hours per week).
• Average estimated over time £3500 per annum
• On top of this, you get a £500 completion bonus when you successfully complete 12 months of service.

What are the essential requirements?

• You'll be a qualified RN Adult, RMN's (with dual registration), RGNs or Paramedics
• Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant field
• General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Walk in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, Mental Health, or Ambulance Service) as an Adult RN or Registered Paramedic
• Autonomous practice – showing strong and confident decision-making skills.

What are the vetting requirements?

• 3 years UK residency
• You'll need a current manual driving license with no restrictions to sometimes travel to other custody suites or local hospitals
• All candidates are subject to local/national police vetting checks
• Clean criminal record
