Due to continued rapid expansion, we are looking for a talented web designer to join our fast-growing digital team.

ICAAL is an award winning full-service creative digital marketing agency, based in one of the few historic Grade II* Listed buildings in the old town of Southampton’s city centre.

Our stunning building offers versatile open plan space ideal for creative teams to enjoy their work. Our unique offices comprise a Georgian house structured around a Victorian chapel and a modern single storey extension overlooking the Mayflower Park with exceptional views.

Job Responsibilities

  • Estimate and deliver work on time and within budget
  • Conceptualise bespoke website designs with fresh ideas
  • Produce low-fidelity wireframes
  • Produce high-fidelity website mockups
  • Present designs and ideas to clients, and backup concepts with design theory
  • Communicate effectively with the design and development team to deliver on project goals
  • Manage and co-ordinate your design responsibilities across multiple projects
  • Work to deadlines to keep projects on target
  • Liaise with clients to fulfil requests and aid project progression
  • Carry out usability tests on completed websites to ensure original design brief is met

Essential Skills / Knowledge

  • Good foundation of design knowledge
  • Creative flair, with the ability to think of fresh exciting ideas
  • Understanding of best practise web design, including UX & UI trends, and mobile-first design
  • Experience in producing designs for websites, apps or other digital formats
  • Proficiency with web prototyping tools e.g. Figma, XD, Sketch (we use XD)
  • Familiarity with Adobe CC (in particular, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Ability to manipulate and optimise images and graphics to suit web standards
  • Strong communication skills, confident discussing ideas with clients and presenting your design work

Advantageous Skills / Knowledge

  • Web programming languages e.g. HTML, CSS, JS, PHP
  • WordPress
  • Additional Adobe CC tools e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, Acrobat
  • Animation
  • Illustration
  • Familiarity with web prototyping tools (XD, InVision, Sketch, Figma etc.)

Required Experience

  • 1+ years demonstrable experience
  • Please provide (or be prepared to provide) examples of your design work

Salary & Benefits

£25,000 - £30,000 dependant on experience
