As Junior Web Developer you will be supporting the Lead Web Developer to develop and maintain a best-in-class website. You will be a key member of the Marketing and Ecommerce team, delivering 1st line support for web related issues, managing, and optimising on-page content, and being the go-to expert for all things technical SEO.
Location: Remote with occasional visits to headquarters in Shoreham by Sea, must be in the UK.
Main Responsibilities/Activities
· Assist with 1st line support for all web related technical issues.
· Effectively triage and troubleshoot both front and back-end web related incidents and requests.
· Work with Lead Web Developer to scope out tickets for Magento partner.
· Performing UAT for bug fixes and assisting with more rigorous testing routines for development projects.
· Ensure all CMS and non-PDP pages are kept up-to-date and accurate.
· Undertake regular SEO audits to monitor performance and identify improvements to improve the organic visibility of our website.
· Keep on top of algorithm updates to ensure best practices and Google recommendations are met.
· Conduct regular keyword research, and work with Content Manager to ensure the website is optimised for the correct words and phrases.
· Ensure processes and routine procedures are defined and documented.
· Create and maintain a UI Style guide.
· Manage related administrative tasks.
Essential skills we will need you to have:
· IT based degree / equivalent experience
· Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript
· Experience of using databases (MySQL, BigQuery)
· Knowledge of version control tools such as GIT
· Solid understanding of SEO best practices
· Experience with Google Analytics, Search Console, Data Studio, SEMRush, AHrefs and other SEO tools.
· Strong aptitude for problem solving and analysis.
· Keen attention to detail
· Desire to learn new technologies and practises and stay up to date with industry standards
· Flexible and willing to go the extra mile.
Desirable skill we would like you to have:
· Previous experience working with Magento eCommerce websites
· Experience of using Project Management tools (Trello, Teamwork, Asana, Monday etc.)
· Experience of managing marketplaces (eBay, Amazon etc.)
