Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the laboratory of Dr Stéphane Mesnage for a Research Technician to characterize the antimicrobial resistance and virulence of Enterococcus cecorum, an emerging poultry. This work is a Knowledge Exchange partnership with the laboratory of Prof Graham Stafford (School of Dentistry) and Aparon Ltd, a company based in Lincoln. The aim of the project is to investigate E. cecorum antimicrobial resistance, virulence, and susceptibility to bacteriophages. The role will be primarily based in Sheffield with time spent in Lincoln carrying out part of the work.

Applicants must have 5 GCSEs A*-C/ 4+ including English, Maths, Science and ICT, or a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship (or equivalent experience) along with previous work experience in a research laboratory. Experience of working with pathogenic bacteria is desirable.
