Job Description

Job Title: Fire Safety Surveyor

Location: Essex

Salary: 300-350 per day

We are currently seeking a technically-focused Fire Safety Surveyor to join our client team based in Essex on an interim basis for 3-6 months. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our properties meet all relevant fire safety standards and regulations by taking ownership of fire risk assessments and implementing remedial and compartmentation works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of fire risk assessments and ensuring timely action of identified risks
  • Conducting thorough inspections of properties to identify potential fire safety risks or hazards
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on fire safety issues to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Developing comprehensive remedial and compartmentation plans to address identified risks
  • Ensuring all fire safety measures and systems are properly installed, maintained, and tested
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest fire safety regulations and standards
  • Collaborating with other teams and departments to ensure that fire safety is a priority across the organisation

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent)
  • Experience of technical Fire Safety Surveying
  • Experience in conducting fire safety inspections and risk assessments in social housing or local authority settings
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant British Standards
  • Experience in implementing remedial and compartmentation plans to address identified risks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
