Borthwick Group is a family-oriented business that provides energy-saving measures to homeowners through the ECO 4 scheme. We are dedicated to helping our customers reduce their energy bills and improve the sustainability of their homes. Our offerings include free boiler replacements, cavity wall insulation, solar panels, and more.

We are currently seeking a talented web designer/developer to join our team on a full-time basis as our company expands. As a web designer/developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing websites that are efficient, attractive and user-friendly. You will be expected to have excellent knowledge of WordPress with a strong focus on user experience and conversion optimisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain websites on the WordPress platform
  • Developing user interfaces for web-based applications
  • Design and implement new features and functionalities to improve the user experience
  • Testing web applications
  • Troubleshooting and fixing any issues
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure the website is secure and optimised for search engines
  • Collaborate with other team members to create and implement effective marketing strategies
  • Supporting the wider team with requirements as and when the need arises
  • Working collaboratively with the rest of the marketing team and broader business
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web design trends and technologies

Requirements:

  • Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 Years of developer or designer experience
  • Portfolio of previous work demonstrating skills and experience

Desired Skills

  • Excellent understanding of WordPress
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum based on experience

Location: Brenda Road, Hartlepool, TS25 2BU
