Job overview

Working as part of the Workforce Information and Planning Team the post holder will design, deliver and maintain a range of workforce information tools and reports to support the Trust to manage its workforce.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the Trust’s electronic workforce information systems as directed by the Workforce Information and Planning Manager.

They will support the Workforce Information and Planning Manager with the annual workforce planning and training needs analysis process, including the implementation of projects in line with the agreed trajectories.

Provide a helpdesk service to users of the Trust workforce systems

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To develop and maintain internal reporting systems ensuring that core workforce reports are published in accordance with agreed deadlines.

Be innovative, forward thinking and support the development process of automated systems that enable efficiency and increased productivity within the team and trust. Ensuring systems and processes remain future proof.

Interrogate and analyse data and to translate into workforce intelligence for use at Trust, Divisional, Specialty or Department level

To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Workforce Information and Planning Manager

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Diploma in an IT or a training related qualification or equivalent
  • Project management knowledge
  • Awareness and understanding of PRINCE2 or ITIL methodologies
  • Good numeracy and literacy
  • Typing/Word processing
  • Ability to use Trust information systems and IT packages

Desirable criteria

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, including specialised IT systems and project management, training knowledge and training or experience to diploma level equivalent
  • 2 Years’ experience using databases, Microsoft Office, E-mail and Intranet web forms
  • Previous IT experience supporting projects and operational IT systems
  • Working with wide variety and number of departments
  • Experience in developing and using spreadsheets and databases and the ability to extract and understand the information

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in working in specialised team
  • Has a working knowledge of ESR workforce systems
  • Knowledge of Moodle type training systems
  • Previous NHS Experience
  • Has had exposure to PRINCE 2 or ITIL documentation and methodology

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.

  • Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service - I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£41.90 for enhanced and £21.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay).
